ONE YEAR OPEN ACCESS FOUNDATION IN ACTING:
COURSE OVERVIEW:
This one year full-time programme is designed for students experiencing acting for the first time, and therefore previous experience is not essential. A healthy enthusiasm for the creative arts is an ideal starting point for anyone considering applying for this course. Our Open Access policy has always been the cornerstone of the school’s philosophy, and mutually inclusive classes allow mixed abilities to work in tandem.
The course aims to provide students with an introduction to professional drama training. Students explore and experience a variety of core acting techniques, including:
Voice
Devising Theatre
Character Creation
Exploration Of Text
Performance Production
Movement & Physical Theatre
An Introduction To Audition Techniques.
Students will experience a number of performance opportunities throughout their course of study. The course should provide students with the knowledge and confidence to apply for further actor training whilst improving and complimenting their talents and skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
OCR Level 2 Diploma (see OCR Level 2 Diploma for full course details)

ENROLLMENT:
The One Year Open Access Foundation In Acting course Enrolment is Wednesday 7th September the course will commence Monday 12th September 2016
DURATION:
33 weeks across 3 terms.
DAYS & TIMES:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday, delivered 15 to 18 hours per week - two and half to three days a week. Students must also be available for weekend and evening performances throughout the year.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Prospective students must be 18+.
No formal qualifications are necessary; however, students must have a genuine interest and enthusiasm for performance activities.
FEES:
The total fee for this course is £1,950.00 (£600.00 per term) A deposit of £150.00 is required prior to the date of entry and the first term's fees paid in advance. All fees are non-refundable once students have commenced their term of study.
HOW TO APPLY:
Prospective students must first fill in the One Year Open Access Foundation in Acting course application form. You will be asked information about yourself and any relevant work-related experience. Also required is a short personal statement listing the reasons you want to study on this course, and details of either one or two referees.
Once an application has been submitted, we will contact you with an interview date.
