CREATING PERFORMANCE:-
This course explores the disciplines specific to performance and presentation. Students will create theatre using a variety of techniques from text to devised work; these include Character, Rehearsal Techniques, Performance Discipline, Creation Development Of Voice and Devising Through Improvisation. Students must be 16+ and have complete fluency in the English language. No previous acting experience is required.

SUMMER SCHOOL COURSES:-
A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF ACTOR TRAINING:-
Everyone dreams about the idea of being an actor but the road to drama school can be hugely stressful. This course provides invaluable hands-on practical experience in the core disciplines of Voice, Movement, Dance, Singing, Character Creation, Exploration Of Text and Audition Techniques. The week culminates in a showcase performance presentation. This course is ideal for students seeking entry to drama courses in further or higher education, and students wishing to explore a wider understanding of actor training. Students must be 16+ and have complete fluency in the English language. Previous acting experience is desirable.
ADULT MASTER CLASSES:-
This course launches a series of 8 Master Classes over four weeks. This includes Week 01:- Creating Character and Improvisation Technique; Week 02:- Working With Contemporary Text and Audition Technique; Week 03:- Classical Theatre and Method Acting; and Week 04:- Exploration Of Masks and Performing To An Audience. Each class is individually programmed to give an insight into each of the specific areas. Students must be 16+ and have complete fluency in the English language. Previous acting experience is desirable.
ACTING TO CAMERA:-
This in-depth weekend course provides an invaluable insight into the disciplines of acting to camera. Through both workshop and live filming, each student will work towards the creation of a short actor Showreel, including the completion of two contrasting monologues. The weekend workshops will focus on the disciplines involved in understanding both the technical and creative process. Opportunities to rehearse and film selected short scenes will form part of an intensive weekend of work. Copies of all work including the final cut monologues will be issued as part of the final day’s training. Students must be 16+ and have complete fluency in the English language. Previous acting experience is desirable.
PROFESSIONAL AUDITION TECHNIQUES:-
The world of professional theatre audition can be hugely stressful and full of anxiety. Finding the right pieces and knowing how to present yourself to maximise your potential is an art in its own right. This three week short course is specifically designed to provide a practical hand on approach to professional auditioning. Workshop classes will include both group and one-to-one tuition and all students will work towards the preparation and final presentation of two contrasting audition pieces. The culmination of this course will enable all students to present their chosen speeches, both a Classic and a Modern text to a convened panel of professional practitioners who will provide feedback in the form of a mock job interview/drama school audition. There will be ample opportunity to seek advice about the process as a whole and together as a class (with the final presentation). This course will build a greater understanding and awareness to help students to adopt industry standards and improve their future auditioning experiences. Students must be 16+ and have complete fluency in the English language. Previous acting experience is desirable.

All classes are based at the school’s newly furnished premises with a fully functioning theatre and rehearsal rooms at its disposal. Our friendly informal and safe environment provides an ideal training ground for new and experienced students alike. All classes are run by professional youth theatre directors and lead to an end of term presentation based upon each term’s work.
This course is ideal for those seeking the thrill of live performance. Each session offers a creative balance of workshop and rehearsal. Creative Play works towards a live performance at The Old Fire Station Theatre where family and friends can join in the celebration. The performance material will be tailored to the participants and will include the use of music, storytelling and devised text. All workshops and rehearsals are run by professional practitioners and supported by assistant youth leaders. Students must be 6 to 10 years of age and have complete fluency in the English language. No previous acting experience is required.
SENIOR ACTING SUMMER COURSE - A PLAY IN A WEEK:-

Experience the thrill of rehearsing and performing a play in just one week. Each day the combination of classes and rehearsals will provide the pathway to the successful staging of the performance. The performance will be staged at The Old Fire Station Theatre and will be open to family and friends. All workshops and rehearsals are run by professional practitioners and supported by assistant youth leaders. Students must be 11 to 15 years of age and have complete fluency in the English language. Previous acting experience is desirable.
