PART-TIME EVENING PROFESSIONAL ACTING DIPLOMA:

COURSE OVERVIEW:
This one year part-time program is designed for students with previous acting experience. The course aims to provide opportunities to develop techniques and skills in acting within a drama school environment, whilst remaining available for work during the day. The course aims provide students with an awareness and understanding of the process of applying for work within the performance profession. In addition the performance and production elements are at the heart of the weekly experience. With three major productions spread across the year, this provides an ideal opportunity to augment your professional CV and acting experience. The schools philosophy of production based training, enhances significant development and plays a vital part in the actors training.
Classes will explore the following disciplines:
Voice
Audition Techniques
Movement & Physical Theatre
Rehearsal & Production Techniques.
Performance and stage craft
Professional actor management
Understanding the Theatre Industry.
Each term will culminate in practical assessments, and performances will be open to the general public. Students are encouraged to take an individual responsibility for learning as the course develops, leading to a final term showcase performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Part-Time Evening Professional Acting Diploma certificate, awarded by The Birmingham Theatre School.
Autumn Term 2023: Will commence on Tuesday 19th September 2023.
January Term 2024: Will commence on Tuesday 9th January 2024
DURATION:
33 weeks across 3 terms.
21 weeks across 2 terms.
11 weeks across 1 term
DAYS & TIMES:
Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm to 9:45pm.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Prospective students must be 18+.
Prospective students should have previous acting experience and aspire to working professionally.
FEES:
The total fee for this course is £3,300 (£1000.00 per term). A deposit of £300.00 is required to confirm place prior to the date of entry and the first term's fees paid in advance. All fees are non-refundable once students have commenced their term of study.
HOW TO APPLY:
Prospective students must first fill in the Part-Time Evening Professional Acting Diploma course application form. You will be asked information about yourself and any relevant work-related experience. Also required is a short personal statement listing the reasons you want to study on this course, and details of either one or two referees.
Once an application has been submitted, we will contact you with an interview date.
