Oliver Workshop Day
Friday 15th December 2017
Birmingham Theatre School in Association with Joseph Chamberlain College will be hosting a Workshop and Performance Day of 'Oliver' on Friday 15th December 2017, and you are formally invited to attend.
A morning of practical workshops followed by a performance has been specifically designed for people wishing to gain an insight into life at the theatre school, obtain further information from staff and students, and to work practically with the production team of this year’s promenade show.
With a large ensemble company of actors, it’s an experience not to be missed.
The workshop is free and the performance is at a discounted rate of £5.00
Oliver
Directed by Chris Rozanski
This year’s Promenade Show will be staged at the schools permanent home. The Old Fire Station 285-287 Moseley Rd Highgate. This facility houses both our rehearsal and performance venue. This performance promises to be a memorable experience. So why not join us for this unique day, participate in a practical workshop exploring both text and characterisation as well as meeting members of the company.
Based on the Charles Dickens novel, 9-year-old orphan Oliver Twist falls in with a group of street-urchin pickpockets led by the Artful Dodger and masterminded by the criminal Fagin. When Oliver's intended mark, Mr. Brownlow takes pity on the lad and offers him a home, Fagin's henchman Bill Sikes plots to kidnap the boy to keep him from talking.
