The Birmingham Theatre School strives to ensure that policy and procedures are adhered to. The Board of Directors have implemented policies in Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities, along with standard employment policies which affect staffing and not students. All policy documentation is available upon request from the school office, but laid out below are some main points that are addressed. As an training provider, The Birmingham Theatre School will:

- Ensure that all people are afforded equal access to training provided by the school by taking active steps to publicise the availability of the training to all sections of the community, and by fully implementing the school's equal opportunities policy.
- Ensure that all training delivered by The Birmingham Theatre School, or on its behalf, supports the aims of equal opportunities in both delivery and content.
- To provide a safe and supportive environment for students to explore and develop their own individual potential both in the theatre industry and the wider job market.
- Provide information, instruction and supervision for employees.
- Consult with employees on matters affecting their Health and Safety.
- Ensure the safe storage, handling and use of substances in the workplace.
- Provide adequate control of Health and Safety risks arising from its activities.
- Actively promote safety awareness within the business including legal and personal responsibilities.
- Ensure that all employees are competent to conduct their tasks and are provided with suitable and sufficient training.
- Provide safe systems of work for the handling, storage, conversion and movement of materials throughout its operations.
- Ensure that all potential and actual students receive equality of consideration when using or seeking out the school's training.
- Ensure that all equipment provided for use in the workplace, including vehicles, is in a safe condition and is regularly maintained.
